2020 Jeep Compass vs 2020 Jeep Cherokee

Serving New Bern, NC

The 2020 Jeep Compass is an extra-small SUV, while the 2020 Jeep Cherokee is a small SUV. The Compass and Cherokee both carry over from the 2019 model year with just minimal changes, but both give consumers plenty to enjoy. The 2020 Jeep Compass seats five individuals. It has a spacious and tech-savvy interior with numerous safety features. The Compass gets some reshuffling of its feature availability for 2020, and it also has a few more standard amenities. The Jeep Cherokee is largely unchanged this year. Still, it offers impressive power and some of the best towing capacities of its class. The Cherokee continues to impress consumers and critics with its large, spacious, and comfortable interior, advanced technology, and polished but durable exterior.

A variety of performance features are standard and available in both Jeep SUVs. The Jeep Compass has one engine for all trim levels, a four-cylinder engine with a 2.4L capacity. The engine's power capacity reaches 180 HP and 175 LB-FT in torque. For the drivetrain, front-wheel drive is standard on most trims, and all-wheel drive is optional on most trims except the Trailhawk. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard for most Compass trims with a six-speed manual on some. A nine-speed automatic transmission is available on the all-wheel-drive trims. The Cherokee has three engine options. The base produces 180 HP, while the second available engine is a V6 that produces 271 HP, and the top engine is a 2.0L turbo with a 270 HP output and 295 LB-FT of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard.

The Jeep Compass has a sporty and charismatic exterior with LED lights on the base trim, and roof rails are included on the higher trims. Packages will add more exterior features such as xenon headlights and a power liftgate. The Jeep Cherokee has LED lights as a standard feature along with 17-inch wheels. Larger wheels are available, and some trims have their unique exterior elements, such as all-terrain tires, tow hooks, and wider wheels on the Trailhawk trim.

A pleasant and modern interior is a highlight of the Compass and the Cherokee. Both Jeep vehicles' base trims have a seven-inch entertainment system that supports smartphone integration, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Both base trims have cloth seats too, and the option for upgrading to leather upholstery on the higher-end trims. Dual USB ports are added to higher Compass trims, while the Cherokee adds a larger 8.4-inch infotainment display.
